Got burnt and now raining most of the day. A long walk to the lower section, had to take most of the gear because of the rain. Plonked in the first swims.
Talked to the nice man in the youth hostel, able to park at end of camping area, saved a few hundred yards.
River still low, feeder-pellet and mag, barbel 6lbs bracket, small chub, eel and silvers.
Take care when driving down to the youth hostel, lots of deer on the way back 20+.

JB blanked but RG caught a chub of 2.5lb. Weather was aweful with torrential rain for most of the day making the banks very slippery and more dangerous as the day progressed. If it wasn't for RG bringing his spikes and rope we would have struggled to get down to the waters edge at all. Nevertheless a fantastic looking piece of water with everything from shallow rapids to deep water and you can park at the waters edge making it easy to get your gear down to the water.

River once again down to its bones. Had to wander far and wide to temp barbel from 5 to 7lbs and one 4lb chub. A very enjoyable workout on a beat with loads of spots to try.

Very slow day. 2 started on the croys with 1 having a fish 1st cast and losing one 2nd cast and nothing after that. 1 other fish caught at the top end that weighed 9.6 lbs. A couple lost in snags later in the day. The river really needs a bit of water to get it going.

Fishing was difficult, rained all day. 4 chub caught under nearside cover, all in beautiful nick with the biggest 5lb. All fell to feeder tactics, pellet and hemp. Trout fell to bronze maggot on trotting stickfloat. Lovely stretch of river although banks became precarious the wetter it got. Cattle were bit of a pain.

No fish caught. The walk to the river must be close to mile over a very rough track, need to be young and fit manage it of which I am neither. The farmer will take you down and back for £5.

Overcast calm day, seemly perfect for fishing but river seemed to have switched off with just the odd bite throughout the day. Best barbel 7.07. Very pleasant stretch of river.
