One carp hooked (and lost!) all day, lovely setting but stocking level looks low. Good conditions but only a handful of carp seen all day.
Suggest the WUF consider boosting stock levels which would justify the day ticket price and ensure repeat bookings.

lovely morning session for 2 pristine common carp of 13lb 4oz and 12lb 8oz. Looks like the lake has finally woken up with the better weather this weekend.

Nice venue, the water was clouded because of recent weather. Probably a bit early in the season for an estate lake and as such, nil caught nil seen.

Last day of the season and a blank. Water (just under a foot at Fownhope) and weather were looking OK, at least for chub maybe - but no fish caught (or even seen) save for one solitary salmon leaping, too far away to make out properly. Really good access (especially on the hut side) both to the beat itself and to the water, which is accessible for much of the length. Cheers to Colin the ghillie for coming along and giving us tips on likely barbel haunts, would definitely like to try this water again when temperatures have risen.

A great way to spend the last day of the season. Lovely weather, with river relatively low and clear. Fished 6 pegs on the bottom stretch and caught on each one. Pre-baited first thing in the morning and then fished from the bottom end up to the broken water just downstream of the woods. Had some cracking grayling up to just under 2lbs and several nice trout on maggott feeder - size 12 hook (3 maggotts) and 10lb mainline just in case a barbel came along. Got chub (up to 5lb+) on ledgered meat and small elipse pellets with micro pellets in the feeder. Barbel appeared from luchtime onwards - all caught on large elipse pellets with a combination of groundbait feeder and micro pellets. All barbel between 8 and 9.5lb. Another great day - roll on June the 16th!!

3 Trout, 12 Grayling, 10 Barbel, 8 Chub

A stunning morning, heavy frost and brilliant sunshine, however very cold and very quiet on the fishing front. My first blank. We'll be back at the start of the season.
