River was up chocolate brown in colour & pushing through, though it did start to drop throughout the day, tried 4 swims, settled in the bottom swim with the big slack, the only one I could get any bites in, couple of Chub to robin red pellets was the reward although just being out in the sun was nice.

We had a difficult day fishing beats 4,5 & 6 for pike using a variety of deadbaits. Despite good fish coming out recently, there were very few fish showing with no bait fish activity. Conditions couldn't have been better which made the trip somewhat disappointing. Still to crack this stretch for pike. Appreciate the advice given by the balif but no luck this time.

Nothing...didn't even look like there was fish within a mile of the place. My first time on this beat - and much of it is shallow without much cover....so not a stretch that is going to hold fish in a clear, low cold winter river. Shame really, I'd asked W+U if I could walk the beat the weekend before to check it out....they refused (which struck me as not especially helpful!)...so I took a gamble...and lost. So there's £30 and a day of my life i'm not getting back.

Fishing Passport Note : Recce visits are not permitted. Anglers are only permitted on the land on the days they are booked and this is at the request of the Fishery owners.

Pretty normal levels, clear, no frost. Didn’t see a fish, not even a minnow, and not a twitch.

3degrees all day...and a clear and dropping river. Constant bites all day...but really fussy and sharp little taps. Scaled right down to a tiny cube of meat and a light quiver tip rod to finally start connecting...all chub 3lb plus and a great day..

No Pike caught - very slow day. Met the Bailiff - pleasant chap who was very helpful with information going foward.
