One Barbel and 7 Chub caught, all were in good condition and of varying sizes. All of the fish were caught on boilies and pellets and released after capture. Fishing was slow as the river was quite high.

Another lovely day out on the Wye, bright ccnditions did not help fishing but a few Barbel to around 7lb graced my net on a variety of baits.

We arrived to find it carrying a little extra water, three anglers chose to fish swims in top field and two went to lower end. Morning started well for one angler having 5 barbel by lunch time in lower swim and one in top field 2 barbel by lunch. We had a lunch break then resumed fishing the afternoon and evening seemed more productive with several more fish caught We ended up with 30 barbel to 9lbs 12oz and a handful of chub. All fish came to pellet and feeder tactics. Fantastic days fishing, very picturesque venue.

Second day of our trip and the river was still up and coloured. All three rods took plenty of barbel and chub. The fish seemed a better average size than on other beats, but we had to ring the changes to keep getting bites, the fish seemed quite wary.

River looked good with about an extra 6inches of water running through and a tinge of colour but the fish were not feeding. Lost two fish to the rocks in the woods so moved back to the meadow for last light had two fish on pellet.

1 small Chub about 3lbs caught and 2 Barbel, one 4lb and one 8lb fish. All fish were healthy with no signs of damage to the body. They were caught on boilies and pellets and the fish released after catching. The fishing was not great as the river was quite high.

1st visit to Courtfield - not my day, fished 7:30 to 19:00 and blanked. River plenty of colour and pushing through (as 1st visit could not compare or comment on whether this flow is normal but my guess is up on what would be expected at this time of year). Tried several swims and baits, very bright clear sunny day did not help - that's my excuse!
