Riverside at 2pm not sure what and where to set up, river is rising quickly, nowhere looked fish-able on LH bank, only piece of slack on the right bank was already being fished,(seeing this guy pull in a barbel of about 6lbs)swayed me to have ago. I asked him if he was using pellet he said he was and as I was going to fish down stream of him be it 100yds away I felt it would be unfair to use feeder and pellet, so opted for sweetcorn and straight lead and hand fed the swim directly under the large willow 4 small chub and 3 barbel to 6 lbs fished no more than 15ft out bites stopped by 4.30 pm as river rapidly rose by approx 3ft.

Extremely dissapointing. River 4 feet up and track to river very muddy and slippy. After negotiating the track, river totally unfishable, could not get anywhere near the river, banks too steep.
Will not consider this venue again and will be requesting re-imbursement.

Baited up an area along a reed bank with hemp and corn, landed 4 bream of around 4/5lbs on corn and half a dozen roach on the maggot. Hooked into something decent following these roach but the fight was all under the rod tip - eel. And another, and another, and another. Couldn't get a bite back on corn so switched to roving.
Casting worms at clouding and bubblers in the margin I banked 3 common carp to around 12lbs. Fought like nothing else on 4lb line and a 12ft Avon. Come evening I flicked a few floaters out and had a couple of nice fish appeared, with backs out of the water. Using a controller float I got right in amongst them and after 30 minutes of them nudging the float and bait, one opened it's mouth properly. A good 10 minute scrap put a pristine common carp in the net. It weighed exactly 22lbs. Amazing fight, amazing fish. Was happy there but they were still feeding so had a recast, had a take fairly quickly but lost the fish on a big lunge at range - seemed a good fish again, but they always do when they come off! Great venue, would recommend it to anyone.

Not much to report today unfortunately. Nil caught, not a bite even. River was well up and like chocolate with logs etc coming down though. First time on this stretch and I must say it really looks good.

Arrived in very heavy rain and opted for the lower end of the fishery. Banks very muddy and slippery, but once the rain relented I managed 5 decent barbel to around 9 1/2lb. All fish taken on pellet. Thanks again WUF and Adam for the upkeep of this excellent beat.

Rising and cloured river with floating debris made fishing difficult but two rods caught 12 barbel to 8lbs on pellet baits.

Total catch was 14 Barbel and 4 Chub all caught on pellets from a coloured falling river.
This was our first visit to the Wye and we were very impressed - the fishing was great and the countryside beautiful.
