Another lovely beat, albeit fairly short in distance. We found 2 swims on the left hand bank where the faster water merged into back eddys which looked ideal. A 2lb chub followed by a 1lb plus eel was caught by J A early on using meat as bait, but as it turned out that was it for the day. A L managed a 6lb 12oz Barbel, and two 3lb plus chub afer lunch on single elipse and halibut pellet, but an enjoyable day nonetheless.

We had a very good day fishing at How Caple Court and between the 2 of us we managed to catch 21 Barbel upto 8lbs 4oz and 17 Chub but only upto 3lbs 8oz. Most of the fish were caught by trotting lunchon meat, we also ledgered using halibut pellets. All the fish seemed in very good health but we noticed that 3 of the Barbel had the lower tails missing. Between 06.45am - 09.00am 5 Cormorants were seen flying up stream.

12 barbel and 1 chub. Feeder fished sweetcorn mid river, bridge swim nice fishery. Needs working parties for opening up more swims, only 2 swims near car park area then a long walk to anything approaching a swim. Recommend visit to the gym before fishing if unable to drive down to river. Bailiff called it cardiac hill . Second access point not marked and seriously steep down to river.

A slow day on a river that had a tinge of colour and some pace. In total 4 Barbel, 2 Chub and 2 Eels all taken from the top 2 pegs. All the barbel came before 12 o clock on pellets and the Chub and eels came a little later on meat. No more bites from 1pm till when I left at 3pm. Directions were fine and parking was close to the river - all the pegs are well presented and relatively easy to access. I hope to return again.

Fished with A J, arrived early, starting on Bridge Pool Area, these are accesible swims but require extending landing net pole to net fish. Both caught a few barbel and chub. Very quiet between 1100 and 1630 so had a good walk, not many obvious pegs so exploring and imagination required. Found a fishy spot that probably has never been tried and located a good shoal of Barbel late afternoon. Between us we caugh 34 Barbel and 5 chub.
Lovely strecth with secure parking. Pellet feeder was the order of the day. Enjoyed watching a Mink Hunt on the far bank. Thanks Wye and Usk.

We chose two swims on the left bank where the fast water met with back eddys. J A had an early 2lb chub and 1lb plus eel on meat and after lunch A L had a 6lb 12oz Barbel and two 3lb plus chub on single elipse pellet.
