A much harder day than I have been used to on the Wye. Two anglers managed one barbel each plus chub and one managed five barbel. All of the fish were between 5 and 7 lb and were caught on pellet.

A fantastic day for our first visit to this absolutely unbelievable river. Carrying a little colour and up a foot from Monday, we took over 30 barbel to double figures. Mainly thanks to Don's advice on location, we targeted great pegs. A range of tactics worked. Pellet in various forms produced steady bites all day. The fish love to be fed. We will return again to this wonderful beat. WUF rule!

This beat is a dream if you like fast water fishing for Barbel, Chub and Dace. The cribs produced good mixed bags. Again Don's advice was spot on. I think we benefitted from this beat being lightly fished to date due to the floods. Best rod took 21 barbel fishing morning and evening session. Some baby barbel as rare as doubles were a real treat. My favourite beat of the week. Again a dream location and a must on our return next year!

Two rods fished, seven barbel ranging from 5 to 9lb and seven chub from 2 to 4lb between us. All fish in immaculate condition taken on pellets and meat. Good directions from WUF and a beautiful place to fish. Many thanks.

What a lovely setting we found at the bottom of the 48 steps we had desended from our parking spot at the top of the disused railway bridge. After a look for swims we settled into two spots to the right of the bridge with great anticipation after reading about previous catches. But only one 6lb 8oz Barbel caught on a single elipse pellet early on was all we had to show between us for the day. Just one of those days I guess!
