A hard day but did manage to hook 1 fish which shot off on a long run across the river & pulled the hook, no further action. On another note I was there with 3 other anglers who I knew so who is W B from Surrey & the man with his son who have submitted a report for the 29th? Was I fishing the right beat?

8 chub up to 4lbs and 2 Barbel approx 8lbs each. With the exception of 1 chub all caught trotting. 1 Chub on feeder with Pellet. Very disappointed with the lack of accessible swims. Late decision to fish the Wye and only place left that I could book on line as offices were closed. Would have liked to have fished Whitehouse as it was free but couldn't book online.

All 3 rods experienced mixed returns on the day. 1 rod bagged up taking 3 Barbel to 8lb 4oz & 15 Chub around the 4lb mark on feeder with pellet & boilie hookbaits, 1 rod had 1 small Barbel and 4 Chub using a rolling meat approach and the final rod struggled and caught nothing. River had dropped considerably due to the warm weather which made finding the fish more difficult.
All rods encountered heavy canoe traffic throughout the day and although the majority were aware of the presence of anglers there was a minority that were happy to be messing about on the river

I fished the 28th but to answer K T question I think W B was there on the Saturday 28th as was the gent and his young son. Perhaps he put the wrong date down. You seem to be on the right beat.

The river is now down to a perfect level and the Power Line swim was looking promising. First cast produced a tentative bite that turned out to be an Eel of about 2lbs which fortunately dropped off as I was lifting it out, but the next bite some 20 mins later was something much better, a Barbel of 9lb 8ozs. Bites continued regularly through the morning and just after the deluge of rain at 11:30am I had another large Barbel of 8lb 14ozs. In total I had 9 Barbel and 1 Chub all on Elips Pellets fished with a feeder.
This was a great mornings fishing and underlines the fact that there is a good head of heavyweight Barbel resident in those first couple of swims.

Excellent day on this long stretch of the river not far outside Ross.
Started at the lower end in the faster water on the stickfloat taking a net load of chub from 8oz to 5lb with the odd dace thrown in.
Switched to groundbait feeder tactics for barbel late afternoon, still in the faster water and got an instance response on corn. 6 barbel to 8lb in 2hrs then let my mate fish the swim who had another 3 and a big eel.
Great beat when the water level is right.

Fished lower end by the cottage and groyne. River was normal summer level, had 6 barbel and 6 chub and dropped 2 barbel to hook pulls. All barbel on pellet, 2 chub on rolling meat. Went very quiet in the afternoon when the sun was up and started feeding later on. Lovely peaceful fishing in a beautiful setting.

River running clear on a nice sunny day. Unfortunately the fishing was a little slow and I finished the day with 2 small Barbel. Tried a number of swims around the orchard end but only one spot produced the fish. Will be back again soon.

First time on WUF water, nice to have both banks and being above Ross, much less boat traffic. Level about normal (I assume). Bright and sunny so opted for deeper swims. Pellet for the barbel (9 in total 3-6 lbs) and meat for the chub (12 in total 2-3 lbs. All fin perfect and olympic fit, taken on the 'pin for maximum fun.
