Fished both pools and caught loads of small Rudd. The top pool is now completly covered in weed and could do with some clearance work to be honest.
I would advise taking a rake if your going at the moment.
Having said that, a stunning looking fishery and saw loads of carp moving and feeding off the surface.
Will be back soon with a rake.

Good directions and access to the pool, a few carp seen near the surface, managed to catch a nice mirror on floating crust at 17lb 6oz and a smaller common around 8lb. A lovely water shall definately return.

Fished the top lake which was quite full of weed. Caught abundant rudd, occasionally a nice one to maybe half a pound. Carp could be seen cruising around, but it wasn't until the last cast of the day we caught one (about 4 lb).

Good instructions - easy to find. Hot weather had brought on spawning and fish were not in an obliging mood. Some fish seen whilst walking about. Will revisit water again in about 2/3 weeks time.

Back in the same area as yesterday as river still well up and coloured like Monday. Today was a lovely hot sunny day. The fish were a bit more cautious today and as a result smaller baits were required. I ended up catching 6 barbel and 1 large dace which was very satisfying under the circumstances so all in all a great start to the season.
Once again a very big thank you to all at WUF who do such a fantastic job gaining access to these fabulous waters.

Was looking forward to fishing this new stillwater. Obviously the Upper Pool had been fished before, as there were platforms scattered around the banks. Fished the one next to the "sunken boat". Weather had changed from hot and sunny to wet and cold. However this did not put the carp off feeding, as I had one on the first cast, on maggots, and 2 dozen more, either caught on maggots, bread or sweetcorn! All were commons (2 mirrors) up to 4lbs. Although I did see some good silver fish going for bread on the surface, no matter where I cast the bait, I had a bite off the carp. Will try again when the it warms up, and try and avoid the carp!

A very nice place to spend a day and made a great change to the Wye. the river was pretty low and clear but I had 3 smallish Chub (biggest was just over 2lb) and lost two others to snags. Also had a follow from a small pike on a lure but no other interest. Unfortunatly the Barbel didn't come out to play. Would have been a very enjoyable day if I hadn't forgotten my Hiking boots - ended up spending the day in very soggy shoes instead. Will definitely try to make another trip next season (this time with more suitable footwear).
