Only two chub between us. Two other rods on Vanstone and Vanstone Pool did catch a few barbel mainly we feel because these were the only two productive pools.

Two rods fished Holme Lacey 3 & Lechmere's ley, Backney, Middle Hill Court and Caradoc between 12 and 14 August. Caught more than 50 barbel up to eight and a half pounds and similar number of chub up to nearly five pounds, plus many dace, despite low and clear river conditions. Fish very localised but willing to feed on meat, corn, bread and pellets when found.
First time on Holme Lacey and Caradoc and found them to be as stunning as the rest of the WUF beats. A wonderful trip but as others are noting, the river is in dire need of more water.

3 barbel caught to 10lb 9oz and 2 chub to 4lb. Fish caught on pellet and sweetcorn. It was our first visit to the fishery and with the river low we were pleased that we were the only two there. Swims are scarce in low water conditions. A pleasant day in beautiful surroundings.

Huge chunk of river to cover in a day, roving the lower section in the morning for a blank and then upper section and middle in the afternoon for a solitary 2lb Chub, sat it out until dark but nothing at all, I would have put my house on the deeper pools containing lots of Barbel but not on this day. Bright and hot throughout the day.

First time here for me, what a great and diverse stretch of water, nice to be able to drive the whole beat for a change which didn't make the fishing any easier but helped with the roving.
Fished midday 'til 9.30 pm. Rain at first followed by bright sun and high temps, one chub and Barbel (8lb 3 oz) during the afternoon and then as the sun went off the water at 8pm, 5 more barbel in the 4 to 7 lb range, lower sections below the bridge very difficult to fish until more water arrives.

18.00 to 20.45hrs. Last pool of lower Wyebank section. Low summer level, 3ft max. Wading and trotting sweetcorn and halibut pellets down centre of river, 10ft avon rod and centerpin, 8lb line to 12 or 8 hook. 3 barbel around 5/6lbs and 1 weighed at 9lb 10oz, oh so close to that elusive double. 4 chub to around 4lbs and one dace of around 10oz. There seem to only be few shoals of dace this year possibly due to many gooseanders in winter and cormorants in spring?

Second time fishing here and tried the daytime 2 til 10 pm only to get murdered by the chub, very violent takes but none more than 4lb, stayed until it got dark with no sign of any barbel, which was strange as the water was a bit higher and flowing faster than a month ago.
