A great day fishing on the Wye,lots of Chub in the bottom field below the wood, moved up and fished near the hut in afternoon and managed 2 Barbel,also 3 Barbel from lucky stone peg in the wood ,Barbel 5-7 lbs, Chub up to around 4 lbs

Barbel 5-7lb, chub 8oz-5lb. All caught on straight ledger using plain luncheon meat, no loose feed. Nice stretch but not many accessible swims.

7 Barbel, 7 Chub

Weather overcast and mild, and surprisingly good flow and colour, with a 14 degree water temp. However with bright skies in the afternoon we needed to do our best work in the morning. Barbel from 3 to 9.06 caught mostly on bomb and pellet, chub to 4.08 on gb feeder meat or pellet. Sounds like a brill day for two anglers? Problem was I had all the chub (and the eel) and he had all the barbel! With this being our first day on the beat we picked two pairs of swims in the second half of the beat and fished one area each so we could move to where the fish were coming from. By the time I'd fished two areas and could only catch snags and moved above Steve, he had stopped catching barbel and had one in the afternoon during which time I had 6 chub (moral victory? He had one more after I left so a great day for him and I took a right barbel gubbin' but a decent day nevertheless.

Absolutely stunning day catching chub and barbel on a waggler fishing and feeding loads of luncheon meat! A few accidental bleak, dace and trout too.

Nice 10lb 8 barbel thought it was bigger but great.

We caught 8 Barbel & 42 Chub, one angler had a great day catching 22 big chub up to 4lb 14oz from the fast water just below the car parking area.
