Great day despite the bitterly cold wind. plenty of chub from 8oz to about 3lb and dace (too many to count) and a rogue trout of about a pound. Probably about 40lb fish all told. Ran out of bait in the end,

Arrived at first light, there was a slight ground frost, river pushing through but dropped a few inches throughout the day, few Chub first thing & then later in afternoon no sign of any Barbel despite trying various swims along the whole beat.
Lovely autumn colours on the trees & lots of birds.
Was slightly taken aback by the large price increase since we last fished here but a well kept beat with lots of access to water

First frost. Blanked. Debris flowing down made it impossible to fish middle river or creases. Snags took copious tackle. Left after lunch as pointless.

Lovely Autumnal day but was extremely hard fishing. Managed 3 chub, worked hard for them. River was fining day throughout the day but think the drop in over night temperature may have put them off feeding.

River slightly high and lots of leaves coming down so we knew they'd be in the slacks, where I found 2 barbel of 5 ish and 7 ish pounds but O B could only find one chub. All fish came from the deeper, relatively calmer wooded section, on the lead with pellets and PVA mesh for feed.
Plenty of swims to choose from but the banks were a little slippery as one would expect after some rain. Gate, track and parking all a doddle - all in all a great stretch of river that usually produces the goods. Just a shame there's no pike fishing allowed anymore, can anyone tell me why that is?

Tough going in the morning as the river had risen overnight and plenty of debris coming down. Fished the middle stretches in the morning without success so moved to the slower downstream section where the chub were mainly caught from. The barbel was taken from the other end of first field in the shallower water. All fish fell to single pellet.
