Fished 1230-1730. River was 1.7m up but slowly dropping and a lovely milk chocolate colour. Only one fishable swim in upper field. Two fishable swims in lower field and I opted for the first swim right by the car parking area. There was a nice slack a couple of rod lengths out that looked ideal and was snag free. I actually started and ended the session with the same feeder and hooklength which can't happen often! Fished groundbait feeder with hemp and a few small pellets mixed in, with 14mm paste wrapped pellet on hair. Had a 3lb chub first cast that slipped off at the net. Another similar chub came shortly after. It then went a bit quiet so I put a few balls of groundbait in and had a sarnie. Switched to spicy meat on the hair after lunch and had a decent chub (4lb ish). Next cast the tip absolutely slammed around and I was into a fesity little barbel of around 4lb. The second barbel came at around 4pm to paste wrapped pellet. An absolutely fin perfect 7lb-er that fought like a lion in the flow. It was a stunning day with buzzards wheeling overhead, a kingfisher buzzing around, and a huge v shaped formation of geese. Thanks WUF.

Another wonderful day at Whitney Court where the weather was kind to us. There was plenty of bird life to observe and even more to hear for those of us that can still hear! A Greater Egret seemed to be resident & was in convoy with a Grey Heron.
Unfortunately the fish were in hiding & not really a bite all day for most of us despite different tactics & trying different swims. Had to listen to some abuse from the far bank on beat 5 .. which seems to be the norm from that quarter, but harmless enough.
River was still a bit high but plenty of slacks to fish Just bad fishermen. Compensated by the thoughts of Isaac Walton who believed that a day spent fishing was not deducted from your allotted span; So we are all now a day younger. Must get a few more days fishing in!
Many thanks to Terry & WUF.

River at 1.84m on the Ross gauge, 10.4 water temp and about a foot visibility. Still a few swims fishable although the banks are extremely dodgy and slippery. Two fished and it took a move to find fish: an 8lb barbel and two chub to one; one 4lb barbel to the other. So a hard day but no dreaded blankety blank.

Enjoyed my first visit to this beat. The video guide was useful.
Big water with level at 1.79 at Ross, so really only had one option to fish the margins. Had the place to myself so fished all swims in woods. Meat worked early on, but pellets worked as light started to go. Fish all decent size up to 8lbs, so happy with the day.

River coming down fast, still with loads of colour. 1 nice chub, 1 Barbel around 5/6 lbs. Used Spam for bait about halfway up the first meadow. It should be mentioned that the hill getting back out will take no prisoners, worth remembering if you're as old and unfit as me !!

Good conditions but a struggle….one small barbel at the stairs and one nice one of 9lb 10oz in the second field….would have expected a bit more give the colour of the water and temperature but the better fish was a trip saver.

Two fished, challenging conditions with river up and racing through and with short nature of this beat it was difficult to find any real slacks to fish. I did manage 1 barbel (8lb) and 1 Chub (4.5 lb) fishing Close in from middle swim which we had to share in the afternoon. Just about held bottom by adding 2 ounce lead to my 4.5 ounce feeders. Tough day but my biggest ever barbel made it all worth while.
Top tip - Park in the lay-by and walk to river in wet conditions. I initially tried to park just inside entrance gate and it took me 10 mins to get it back outside after wheels getting no traction on wet ground and churning up the mud.
