Stunning beat, we parked at the church and started in the fields, plenty of options and caught from there and the woods. It’s a fair walk so travel light !

Great day - barbel to 8.5lb and chub to 5lb. One comment about this beat - it wouldbenefit from some light swim clearance in the first field which would make a lot more swim’s available.

Just fished the afternoon. No barbel showed for me but had a couple of chub touching 4lb.

The 12 inches of extra water that came into the river overnight made all the difference, much better than Tuesday..

Lovely beat....all fish on feeder & pellets/meat.Special thanks to the two anglers from Essex/Suffolk who helped us when our car got stuck on the hill...v much appreciated...????????????

Lovely stretch of river with good convenient parking at church carpark and access to river along a farm track. Access to swims is quite steep but there were several available to us allowing comfortable fishing. All fish came to various pellet on lead or feeder tactics. River came up slightly while we were there and flow increased necessitating a change to heavier leads/feeders later in the day.

Weather overcast and banks muddy and slippery - note no rope access in place. On a bad day an unfit / infirm person could get stuck at the bottom of the bank!! I slipped over at least three times!

Water was slowly on the rise through the day.

Bites were hard to come by today with surprisingly few chub, though managed barbel of just under six and just over seven. Three chub to 3lb also caught. Boilie and meat with GB feeder on the day. This is a lovely beat from the croy at the far end back. Near end water is slower paced and generally appeared deeper.

The walk back up the hill matches Fownhope 5!!

Would fish again, whether on bottom or trotting.

Again three anglers fished this beat, but the heavy overnight rain and cooler air temperature seemed to put the fish off from feeding.
