Torrential rain the previous day and overnight (coupled with the opening of a dam in Wales) presented a river with a height and flow of Biblical proportions which even Noah would have found challenging. It had burst its bank at the bottom end of the beat with the field partly flooded but managed to find a single 100 yard stretch which was just fishable in the margin. The rest of the beat was totally unfishable. Managed to land 8 chub all on meat/meat pellet on the feeder.
Despite the rain very much liked the ease of access to this beat and the ability to drive its entire length.

River continued to rise steadily from the previous day. Only stopped rising at about 17:00 just below the top of the bank. Holding bottom with 6-8oz leads just off the slacks.
11 Barbel and 2 Chub caught. If you could find them they were still feeding. Excellent couple of days on this very consistent and well managed beat.

Lovely stretch of the river although a lot of walking, note middle parking spot appeared to be not usable due to electric fencing and cattle in field. Very fast flowing but found some slack water.

See comment on 18th Sept for the appalling state of this fishery! On a very wet day it was treacherous.

"Other" was an eel.

River in flood... Stained chocolate brown. Access to river very difficult due to muddy and very slippery banks. Could only find 1 x accessible point to the river...did manage 1 x trout. Fished from lunch until sunset.
