We fished beats 4 and 5 on the left hand bank. The river looked in good condition and rose slightly during the day. Both rods fished pellet feeder. Fishing was slow through the day with just two bites for two fish coming from mid stream on the first bend on beat five. Barbel was around eight pounds and chub about four. Both came to luncheon meat.

All caught on straight lead and halibut pellet, unfortunately no sign of the barbel. Proudest achievement was getting back up the track to the road! I have a standard estate car, slightly lower ground clearance than most. It is possible to go up and down the track if you plot your lines carefully. I wouldn't dream of doing it in the winter months if I wasn't in a 4 x 4
