All caught in the faster water on feeder tactics. Had some issues with fishermen on the other side but phoned Wye and Usk straight away, the farmer came down and moved them on, apparently they have paid £800 to fish their beat and for what it’s worth their half is shallow this time of year. Very hot today and water levels low.

With big suns and 26 degrees forecast it was less than ideal conditions for me here for the second time this season. Still, gotta play what you're dealt so I started in the bottom pool about 7 on gb feeder and a variety of hookbaits. Nothing for the first half hour and then 3 barbel to 5lb and 10 Chub. Moved to the run at 10:45 and added 4 barbel and 8 Chub on the float and meat in a couple of hours before it went completely dead.
Not the numbers the guy had last week but far from ideal conditions as I said. Only a dozen of so canoes and one swimmers up above me. Nevertheless a lovely morning capped by very narrowly missing a roe deer that ran out on me in the forest on the way home. That would have been a very poor end to a good day.

Fished from around mid day to dark at the lower end of the island. 1 barbel around 4lb, 2+3lb chub on rolled meat or feeder and a few small fish on the float.
Not sure what the situation is with access, the path we're told to take has a "no footpath" sign and the public footpath from the church is forbidden to anglers. Other fisheries are available.

The day was very warm and bright attracting a number of swimmers into the river. Fishing was hard through the day and we only managed 9 chub between us. All were between 3 and 4 lbs.

River clear and normal level. Cloudy/ sunny. Fished around 10:00 to 19:00, 2 swims above and below biblins bridge both steep high banks, glad I took my rope. Slow fishing, 1 chub around 4lb and an eel in the morning on light ledger link with luncheon meat. Pellet and Feeder in the afternoon, lots of chubby bites and finally landed 1 fine barbel just under 10lb.
Canoes and paddle boards all very mutually respectful.

A decent day for once. The first barbel of the season after several blanks.

Arrived for an evening session at 5 and the first swim was occupied by a herd of cows, so moved on.

Wandered further downstream and had an entertaining few hours. A couple of eels in late afternoon followed by 3 barbel between 7-9 pounds and a chub. Missed a couple of fish too.

Just as I'd almost given up on The Wye after several quiet trips.

Only fished from 5-8am. Parking not obvious. Access to much of the stretch very limited. Some much is very overgrown and path maintenance is very poor over much of the stretch. All water is relatively, slow flowing so more suitable to bottom fishing. I was only interesting in trotting. One chub about 1.5lbs caught trotting, with sausage meat. I decided to book the adjacent Wyebank stretch for the rest of the day.
