Two people fished. Conditions tough going, far too hot and river too low with many swims not really viable. Of the chub caught, biggest was 4lb and the 2 other were eels with one weeing in at 4.5 lb and put up a right scrap.
Enjoyable day, partially spoilt by numerous anglers fishing the opposite bank at the lower end of the beat taking up good swims, presumably fishing illegally. Tried to notify fishing passport office, but no reply when I called.

Arrived at the lucky stones at 04.15am, the river was low but with a tinge of colour, although i fed regularly it was strangely very quiet for the first 2hrs but once the fish had located the feed it was a bite a chuck, the biggest Chub weighed in at 5lb 4oz a new PB for me, but disappointingly the Barbel failed to make an appearance?.
Thank you WUF and the land owners for proving us with great access to a great river with all the nature that comes with it.
I'll be back soon!

2 anglers fished. Water low as expected, little flow. All fish caught on meat, mostly trotting. Most fish 1lb to 1.5ln, two over 2lb, three over 3lb. Enjoyable day, but hard work in the conditions and heat.
