The fish were queuing up in the fast water but we couldn't get there until late on when the other bank anglers left. When they finally did we caught a few but the barbel had had a pasting all day from 2 guys who were catching a fish a chuck on the float and all big ones too, 7 pounds plus some of them. Pellet and meat both caught. Canoes were a nightmare until the afternoon but I managed to only hook one that snapped me up after a decent run.

A very enjoyable day on this Foy Bridge again and once the fish were found there was plenty of action...I packed up fairly early so probably missed out on a possible Barbel but there are a lot of Chub here and anticipate some good reports of catches in the coming weeks....It has been commented by others and I am inclined to agree that the Barbel numbers appear to be diminishing...I am pretty certain 2 or 3 years ago I would have been reporting their capture too with this number of Chub feeding...Thanks to the Owners and WUF for providing the opportunity to fish this peaceful beat again and hope to return again soon.

The river was low and a bright sunny day meant things were going to be a bit slow but this beat is stunning and one of our favourites, so great to be here on the second day of the season. We had a few Chub throughout the day and my mate Ian had the only Barbel at last light. The swims were strimmed and access good, so thanks to the landowner/W&UF. Also, can recommend the Cottage of Content. Fantastic food and great atmosphere.

Spent the day trotting several swims. Wye more coloured than expected for the height. Had a crazy amount of chub and one barbel between us (barbel at last light) all on the float. Great day on a great beat once again.

Nice surprise to find someone had been down and strimmed some of the swims, unfortunately the fishing was hard and we only managed three small chub.
