We booked the stretch the same morning having been refused access at Aramstone Fishery due to the rest of the River Wye being closed . We also booked Whitehouse fishery for the following day. We had previously fished Sugwas Court back in 2017 where we struggled to find good access to most pegs, apart from only a couple of places due to the bankside vegatation being completely overgrown . Unfortunately time has changed nothing and we experienced exactly the same scenario, dangerously steep overgrown banks , most completely hidden and inaccessible . The river was so low you could see the bottom all the way across , with more gravel than water, stagnant pools were covered with green algae on the Orchard stretch. There was no evidence on the bank of any other Anglers having recently fished the venue, and the entire beat looked un-touched. The track from the style leading to the upstream limit through the wood was again impossible to gain access to a clear fishing spot, overgrown and in one area the access track was dangerously steep then completely obstructed with a fallen tree. (See photos attached). Having spent a good 40 minutes walking the entire stretch we were at a loss as to what to do, so in desperation we again called the office and spoke with Shannon who was prepared to look at other options for what was left of our day , but stated she was unable to refund us our money paid to fish Sugwas Court and that we would need to pay again and send photos to support our findings in order to secure a refund once the office was open this week. We had already paid over £100 so decided to abandon fishing the Wye and drove 1 hour to Bewdley to the River Severn where we finally got two good pegs and was fishing for 14:00. This was quite costly in fuel with a 2 hour round trip back to Hereford where were staying. For the cost to fish here I personally would not waste my time travelling to this venue again , you will definately be disappointed.

First day fishery open after recent closure due to the high temperatures and with very comfortable temperatures and light cloud cover the fish were on the feed! Started float fishing with luncheon meat on bottom left hand peg and had a 5lb chub first cast. All the chub bar two were over 3lbs and at least 5 were 5lb plus. Barbel were 5-6lb and all came on feeder and pellet. I've fished this stretch a few times but this was my best session here yet. Cracking day!

River very low and clear. Fished 6am till midday. 6am to 9am 1 x barbel on 14mm crab pellet. 9am till midday 12 x chub 3-5lb on bread flake, great fun. Could have continued to catch but it got too hot so legged it for a pint.

Fishing on a really hot day always has it challenges, sometimes it can be productive but today proved to be a difficult one . The river was extremely low and I knew I had my work cut out . I expected a no show from the barbel but expected a lot more chub . This beat is a very prolific stretch, it will always produce the goods , but conditions weren’t great . I do regret booking on such a hot day , I should’ve known better. Still not a blank but a tough day ! A visit from our slippery friend Anguilla was welcome for a change
