A very wet days fishing. Tried several swims, not even a bite after 7 hours of fishing. Kayakers we're a bit of a pain too. Very limited fishing space when they are going up and down all day.

On the plus side a very picturesque location, and had a great day mob the less.

Also just to add. I have read people having problems getting back up the hill. And I can agree (when wet) very tricky in a two wheel drive car. Took several attempts to get back up.

Lucky stone at end of woods, fast water shallow is full of chub. Casting downstream was very snaggey but gave the barbel a chance to find the bait before it was snuffled by a chub. Lost 3 in snags as well as landing 4 to 9lb. Chub averaged 3/4lb with odd bigger one.

Fantastic day on this consistent section. Fished pellet feeder and meat with fish right from arrival at 7am. Had 12 fish by 10.30am. Then the canoes turned up on mass and bites slowed down. 18 of the Chub were in the 3 to 4 pound bracket. No sign of the barbel today. River was very low though. Left at 4.30pm with a big grin on my face.

Lovely beat. Actually only 2 of us fished. Caught many chub, 5x 3lb plus, including 2x over 4.5lbs. No barbel this time unfortunately. Water fairly low, beautiful place to fish.

Relentless wind all day with showers and occasional periods of sunshine. The wind made fishing difficult but carp were showing in the middle. One minnow early on followed by three wildies late afternoon to evening and a chub on last cast. All on sweetcorn under a float, except the minnow which wolfed down a lump of bread flake.
