Understandably not as prolific as last time I fished the stretch. I think I'll struggle catch over 20 barbel in one day again!
The temperature had dropped quite a bit in the run up to the session so fishing was fairly slow. Both barbel around the 6lb mark and both gave a great account for themselves.

Fished from 12 noon to 4:30pm on the second to last downstream swim of the beat. Rained on and off most of the time but the sun broke through for the last hours. Used feeder with 3mm halibut pellet and 8mm on a banded size 10 barbless hook. Had 3 slamming bites and 3 beautiful barbel. Have posted a photo of the best of the 3 (the first fish funny enough). Such a beautiful stretch of river, and I’ll definitely be back again soon.

Awesome session, fish came throughout the day from every swim bar one, managed to explore the whole beat from top to bottom, only one canoe all day, lots of rain in the afternoon, river was at summer level the top croy was out of the water all fish caught on pellet feeder tactics, not enough hours in the day found it very difficult to tear myself away at dusk, love this place

Almost perfect conditions once again, cool, over cast and drizzly rain all day but that did not put us off, with big chub knocks kept us alert for most of the day, but yet again we could not find those elusive Barbel...... with little or no weed for cover they must be elsewhere along the river?
NO canoe traffic....woop, woop.... makes a pleasant change, peace and quiet with nature.
Thanks WUF for another great day with good access to another fine beat along my favorite river Wye.
Better luck next time.

river too fast the previous day, rained overnight so no fish, too much debris and snags due to the current
