First trip to The Creel today and what a stunning stretch of river… this was our fourth and final day of our trip so only fished between 10 am and 3pm .. river running low and weather has been very hot.. we both fished feeder and fished across… a coupe of decent chub were followed my my friend netting two 4lb Barbel… considering how hard the river has fished all week this was a great result. Lovely to see a big common in the near side margin .. can’t wait to return for a full session

A very low river with nothing much happening on our usually successful peg, saw me don the waders to take a little look around. As I soon realised, the water in many places was knee high or lower, with the occasional plunge to around 5 feet or so..
Changing to trotting meat through a few gulleys found me a few fish up to around the 5lb mark.
As the sun started to come down, I went back on to the feeder, but to no avail - Still a great day and a venue I always like to visit.

After a bit if leg work a number of barbel could be seen feeding in a shallow pool and once located the action was steady right through the day. Fish fell to ledgered pellet mainly but it was lovely to get out in the water in the sun and roll meat through the pool which also produced a few fish. Biggest barbel went 9lb 2oz. As others have mentioned you need to be fit and mobile for this beat and make sure you travel light but take what you need as you don't want to be popping back to the car for anything if you can help it!!
