River painfully low and only came to life once the Sun had started to drop. Lovely beat irrespective and a joy to be in such stunning countryside. Great access along the entire stretch.

Trotted meat, and pellets from the beach down into the bottom pool for most of the day catching chub from chublets to a few of 5lb plus, as the whole of the rest of the beach was being used by swimmers. Moved upstream to a likely looking spot where barbel had been crashing in the trees on the far bank, as their numbers dwindled, and had 2 barbel around 8lb even though there was still plenty of commotion going on, on the feeder. Tried the croys at the top on my way back out but these swims seemed devoid of life apart from the odd small chub.

A hard days fishing river very low but that is to be expected with the lack of rain, started by trotting with hemp and sweet corn only two small chub of about a pound changed to ground bait feeder and luncheon meat and had 3 further chub biggest 5lb 2oz I am here for a weeks holiday so it looks as if it will be a long week unless we get rain. The other was an eel of about 2lb.
