River low and a horrible algae brown. Fished 3 swims to learn the stretch. caught chub in all of them on trotted pellets and meat. Best around 4.5lb
Didnt stay for the evening - so maybe the barbel would have fed later......

Another enjoyable and successful session on a W&U stretch which again was a first for me here. Parking and access is straightforward and a decent amount of swims available though how some would be in the wet could be a different story. A warm day with the river low started about 1.30 and fished until 7.30ish. Tried a few swims and ended up with 7 chub to 4lb+ and 3 barbel to 6lb+ taken on a variety of baits inc corn, pellets and meat at one point the chub taking baits on the drop . The usual flotilla of canoeists during the day but caused min disturbance. Would return here especially with a bit of water on

Weather cloudy, sunny and quite humid. River very low. Fishing slow until afternoon. Large number of canoeists, most of whom were quite polite and only a couple went through my swim. Access path down at the bottom getting very eroded and there is a risk of sliding into river. This risk will become significant when it is wet. If erosion continues path will be gone in a couple of years. Would not recommend this access if angler unsteady on feet.

River low and brown with algae bloom. Sun in my face from 11am . Hopeless and river in a very sad state. To be fair , the catchment area has not had the rain that other parts of the country have had . It desperately needs rain big time.

Great stretch plenty of swims to head for, river was low but plenty of chub up to 5lb with the average in the 4lb range, only 1 barbel but chub more than made up for it. Bigger fish coming from the field after the woods.
