Fished an evening session. Started off to a flyer. First cast a barbel about 4 pounds. Lose 2 feeders next two casts, then break my baiting needle.
So sided hooked some elipse pellets and caught another small barbel and chub. Cant get the bait to stay on.
So i decide I'll have ago a free lining meat down the inside of the crease. First go miss a bite, then get a chub about 3.5lbs. Lose a good fish. Then get my bottom broke about 5 times on some very sharp snags. But end up with another 4 chub to around 4lbs. Miss a couple more bites and home time. Wow, not even 3 hours of fishing

3 of us fished from 10am to 2pm as we where leaving for home. Really loved this beat, plenty of pegs to choose with a variety of options from float to feeder fishing.
All barbel caught on feeder using pellets & chub on the float using meat. The wood pegs in the fast water are brilliant & hold a lot of fish. We would 100% recommend this beat for 3 or more people coming together and would definitely return.

Other * eel caught on meat.

Fished the middle section as the river was fining down, not a bad return of a couple of 5lb Barbel and a few good chub. Clearly the head of Barbel are in the faster water, give that a go tomorrow

Carp 12lb, Carp 7lb, One carp lost.

The pool was very quiet throughout most of the day - first thing and last light were when the fish fed.

A lovely day.

Barbel where on he feed through the morning, taking all 5 fish and losing 2. Barbel were between 7 and 8 and half pounds. Best chub was a 5 pounder. All taken on pellets. Canoe traffic was surprisingly light for a change. Snaggy swims here so bring plenty of feeders.
