Not a good day for fishing. River had risen significantly overnight and a cold night too. Think we were lucky to have anything at all. The barbel was the only bite … a fish of about 7 lb on the feeder.

Directions were easy to follow and found the river rising and so choice of swims was limited. However we found a suitable area where 2 of us could fish. Ended up with Barbel to just over 8lb. A superb days fishing.

2 chub caught on feeder fished groundbait and pellet and small chub caught on float fished maggot. Very quiet fishing but a beautiful location. Powerful current and tricky holding bottom and lots of large snags.
