I had a really good days fishing. I arrived at midday which was unusual for me but unavoidable and spent the first 4 or 5 hours moving up and down the upper stretch without a bite. I waited for the canoeists to go home and then settled in to a swim nearer the lower stretch and had all 7 barbel in a 3 hour period. All taken on 12mm pellets. Smallest of the barbel was about 5lb and largest 7lb ish.
It really is a very nice stretch of water but I think I'll wait until September before I return as the canoeists and wild swimmers are out in force at the moment and its not even the summer holidays yet!

Dire fishing for whatever reason, the river had risen by around 1ft and we expected this to improve the fishing, however this wasn't the case and we packed up fishing around 1pm due to boredom.
All fish were caught on 8mm fishmeal pellets with a feeder, the barbel was barely bigger than a large gudgeon, this is for DC.

Another fantastic day on the river. Fishing was difficult with long periods of inactive during the day(bright and hot) with multiple of swims fished. Apart from two smaller chub all fish came at dawn and dusk.
Biggest barbel 7lb 6oz

Still big snags in the main pool which really need clearing. Stopped fishing there after hooking and losing a few as even though I fish safe running rigs I still don't like the thought of a hook and line caught in a fish.
Evening was better and caught steadily opposite the gardens
