Hot and sunny day river level low 5 chub caught late on in the day all on meat the other was an eel.

Three fish with pellet and feeder in low water conditions including a stunning 10lb Barbel taken in the evening. Another magical stretch of the beautiful wye making it a memorable day.

This report for 2 rods.
River very very low and dropping. Croynes on the beat looked like the ribs of a skeleton. Weather hot and sunny so we knew it would be tough!
We tried the beach towards the bottom of the beat into the faster water but no joy. We ended up in the deeper water under the pump braving the noise and fumes until it was turned off at 16:00. It does seem strange that water can still be extracted all day by a massive diesel pump when the river is so low. We ended up with two Barbel of 6 and 7 pounds.

If you are fishing this beat remember to put your wellies on before you arrive. Access means you need to wade through cow poo, even in the hottest driest weather.

Conditions low and clear. Bright blue sky with spots of overcast throughout the day. Chub came at the end towards sunset.

Another tough day followed much the same as yesterday with a low clear river. Having found only a couple of productive swims the previous day we managed 4 barbel between 5 of us but with only 2 small areas producing we squeezed in together in the productive swims. With the river this low there were not many swims to go at (you could see the bottom and lack of fish present in a much of the stretch). Lovely place to spend time watching the salmon leaping but not overly productive in, granted, not great fishing conditions.

4 rods, 2 small chub and 2 dace. River like brown soup. Not good.

Fished 12:00- 7:30 river very low, bright conditions. 1 small club on the float and one 5lb barbel last cast on pellet.
