Fished in the field below the wood. No bites until 4.15 when fish began to feed. 1 chub 3lbs about 5.30. After sunset had a barbel run but lost it. 2 anglers at the bottom end of the field caught barbel from 3pm into dark.

River still falling slowly with some colour. Very mild and breezy. Started at midday, with barbel coming at intervals until about 17.00. All the fish on meat and, remarkably, all about the same size, around 6lbs (estimated). Swim died in the evening with only a couple of smallish chub and with rain setting in I decided to call time on a good day.

Great day's fishing including a double figure barbel of 10lb 9oz, and a chub just under 5lb. River conditions were just about perfect. 4-5 Oz weights needed to hold in the flow off the pumphouse pegs though. Especially impressive given another angler fishing the beat also managed 10 barbel.

My first 3 Barbel ever between 5 and 9lbs, overcast chilly day, light breeze from the south. Feeder fished hemp and halibut groundbait with halibut pellets mixed in and either Halibut or Spicy sausage pellets or luncheon meat on a hair rig fished approx 10yds out from the bank near the bottom of the beat.

Mild weather helpful as the river was running reasonably clear .... most fish taken on pellet feeder.....beautiful looking beat.

We settled into a couple of swims half way along in the first field where the river was deeper and slower. An early chub of 4lb 12oz was caught on meat which we hoped was a sign of things to come but then nothing until late afternoon when out of the blue a barbel of 6lb 4oz was tempted by a halibut pellet and feeder tactics.
