Nice part of the river but quite steep banks. Still, there was more than enough swim choice. We caught regularly throughout the day and from most swims we tried. The barbel came from the first field and the chub throughout the beat. Feeder and pellet worked best with a change to small, strong hooks improving catch rates.

Another good day for me on The Creel which continues to be a very consistent venue....Steady sport all day with the best Chub 5lb 10 oz caught on usual feeder tactics....Probably would have captured a couple more but left early for the long trek home.
Thanks to the owners and WUF for the opportunity of fishing this terrific beat

A stunning setting for a days fishing. Glad we were able to drive down to the river as the walk from the gate entrance would have been challenging. Plenty of swims to choose from along the beat however the river was fairly low and clear and despite best efforts with a variety of baits and moving swims, only one small chub and a surprise trout graced the net.

Beautiful beat, we fished several pegs and had 1 bite all day which produced a very nice 4lb + chub.

An overnight drop in temperature really killed the fishing. Sadly only the two chub were landed, one just shy of 5lbs.

Scaled back tactics due to colder water. Had a barbel early on but then went quiet for the rest of the day until dusk. Fished for a pike during the quiet spell to rest the swim.

Lovely day - river in good condition but very little action from the fish. One angler no bites all day. one angler 3 bites and one chub around 3-3.5 lb on maggot.
