River conditions looked good, banks slippery from the recent rain and flood water, however all quiet for most of the day until 4pm and then 3 barbel before dark. All barbel caught on spicy sausage boillie 6lb 5oz, 6lb 12oz and 7lb 13oz all in great shape. Three dace caught trotting a float whist giving the ledger a rest.
Thanks Wye & Usk

River looked perfect but fished very hard. We were a group of 4 and several other anglers on far bank. A few Chub caught many float fished maggot. No Barbel seen all day. Stayed until it got dark and managed 1 Barbel in the last few minutes of 9lb 8oz making it all worth while.
A lovely stretch when the pumps are not running. Worth putting your wellies on before going through the farm!

Just one rod fished and a very enjoyable day on a somewhat battered beat.....previous posts have already highlighted some of the problems this stretch now has but this beautiful spot can still generate some good sport....I lost a Barbel on the float which was the only negative aspect of my visit and will look forward to returning next year.
