Arrived at about midday on a hot sunny day. My first visit to this beat. River in good condition but very little sign of surface activity. Many midges in evidence and quite a few mayfly so opted for a size 10 Wulff. This yielded a 7" Brownie but all went quiet in the afternoon and I had no success on the Wulff or a Klinkhammer. What a beautiful beat in every sense.

River in good condition, weather fine with upwing flies of all sizes including the odd mayfly. Very few fish rising. Four small trout to hares ears patterns.

Bright conditions with only one fish spotted rising during the three hours fishing. Fantastic habitat but out of all the Arrow beats this one seems to be trickiest to catch fish (from my experience in recent years)!

The river on this beat is in good order. Nothing rising so all four fish caught were taken on either a PTN or a hare's ear nymph suspended below a dry fly. The largest fish was 9 1/2" long. A number of other (probably larger) fish were hooked and lost, so the tally could have been greater had the angler been in better form.

First time on this beat, and conditions were very kind to us. Access to the water is good, but wading is required to get the best from some of the longer, more overgrown sections. A real mix of water. Fish were caught using weighted nymphs and all returned.

Due to being short on time only managed to fish the lower part for a few hours. Spooked one fish. Clear conditions made it tricky. Nice bit of water but a bit overgrown at the bottom end.

Managed to spend the late afternoon on the river which looked in good nick. However, despite there being the occasional evidence of a light hatch there were no fish rising and although I tried just about every dry and nymph flies I had, I managed to tempt absolutely nothing. Lovely stretch of river though and I will be back to try again.
