Lovely spot - its as much about exploring a steam and enjoying the countryside as catching fish. Parked mid-way by the ford/footbridge and went upstream to another footbridge. Had two pulls, landing one lovely looking12 incher. Only fished 1 hour max.

Nice amount of water, but the number of large fallen trees really spoil this beat, only sign of life were crayfish, otter prints and remains of at least three crayfish and otter spraint on a large pebble, assuming tney are signal crayfish by their size and blue colour, at least the otter is thinning them out! Slower pools had distinct grey/blue tinge to the water, sawmill? Who knows, but not as bad as the Wye below Hereford, shameful whats happened to our local rivers and streams over the last ten years. Ideal salmon spawning stream but no sign of part or any fish for that matter! Nil point!

River high and flowing very strong, brisk downstream wind, cold and overcast (contrary to weather forecast). Very little fly life, bar a couple of olives. Lots of fairly recent tree surgery and several trees down and in the river. Nymphed with no success.

WASHED OFF .Went up for a look on Tuesday 25th it was a little high with very light colour , although we have had consistent rain as its spring feed I was hoping it may still be just about fishable , well I got that wrong , very high coloured, but very pale grey not really muddy, but as its a best fished wading the better part of valour was to call in a wash off, couldn't see the bottom and with that speed of water deemed to dangerous might end up in Leominster or stuck under a fallen tree .
