First time fishing Blackpool. 7 trout 10"-12" and 2 roach. Squirmy wormy.
I fished Blackpool due to another nearby Brook not available. I kept deferring from fishing Blackpool because of my wrong conclusion that there was not enough water in the Brook (wrongly drawn form photos and reports). However it turned out Blackpool had more water than Cannop! Another good surprise was that available space for overhead casting. Going through the tunnels was also a unique experience, which I would recommend to carry a torch. Overall, Blackpool resembled a remote beat - peaceful with no dog walkers, hikers nor cycling to be seen all day.
Started with a S14 Klinkhammer, I had 5 rises but missed them all; two just nudged the fly, two came up but turned away, only one took it firmly (after down sized to S16) but tangled with tree roots and freed itself.
I carried on with dry further up half-of-the-beat with no further success, thinking a blank would be inevitable. At the last resort, I put on a quirmmy wormy for a sake of changing something. First cast, a trout darted from nowhere and took the worm. The worm took 6 more trout and 2 roach. What a difference a fly choice made! Although the trout here were not made up by numbers, they did make up by size. The average rage size was around 10". The biggest was 12". All were quite chubby.
I will definitely fish Blackpool more next season.

My first time at this little Brook and not a very successful one. I was starting to question whether there were any fish here at all, then spotted a shape darting into one of the deeper pools. Plenty of insect life including several mayflies hatching, but I couldn't elicit a response to any of my atificials. A pleasant place to fish, in a lovely forest setting, just not much to cast at.

Nothing seen or caught. As others have mentioned this is a very shallow stream. Picturesque though.

Spent a couple of hours with nymph and klinkhammer this afternoon. The water was cloudy and no fish were seen either rising or in the water (or on the end of the line!). Quite difficult conditions, would merit a group of us volunteering to walk the beat and clear some of the winter rubbish, logs and branches.

A first visit to this beat for my son and myself - really enjoyed ourselves but could see that summer water levels would make life pretty challenging. One trout only which took a Greenwells Glory having tried a selection of nymphs

I began fishing at around 11 o'clock. The water was very low and I was often fishing in just 6 inches of water. I caught fish in tiny little pockets of water as well as some of the bigger pools; the riffle i caught the first fish in was only about 20cm deep. All of the fish were caught on dry flies and I predominantly used a size 16 stimulator dry fly. if you fish this beat i would recomend using very fine tippet and casting into every tiny little bit of pocket water as well as the pools.

Great fun for a couple of hours - water level up and a tinge of colour. 13xwbt from 3-7" flicking a #20 goldbead nymph into the obvious places. As suspected a great beat after some wet weather!

First time on this lovely, tiny stream. Water surprisingly low - saw a few fish shoot off as I approached pools, but couldn't get close enough. Closest I came was missing a bite on a small jig nymph. Will be back, probably after some rain when theres a bit of colour in the stream
