Fished for two hours using gold bead nymph. No fish seen and no takes. A little disappointing although weather cold.

3 to hand one at 12 inches, one at 16 inches and one at 20 inches. Also 3 about twelve inches lost to hook pulls. massive hatch of olives between 1-2 pm and not a single rise anywhere to be seen in fact other than in two pools there was no activity on the whole of the beat.. it is still very cold around Kington. I left home and it was 6 degrees and arrived an hour later and it was only 3 degrees. Cold rain also made fishing quite miserable.. first time on this beat and it is lovely to look at, I feel come May, it should fish well but sadly the way this spring is going who knows. Today felt like a mid January day..

Blustery day, with a strong flow, no fly-life. Caught a good 1.5 lb brown on a gold-head PTN fished deep and missed another good take.

What a glorious day to be on the river! I fished the Lugg yesterday on a cold wintery day but today really felt like the first day of Spring with gorgeous spring sunshine and temperatures of 14 or 15C. The river looked to be up very slightly with just a hint of colour and on first viewing the water from the bridge I was filled with confidence, this whole stretch just screams fish but after reading the catch returns I knew it wasn't going to be easy and so it proved. I fished the whole length wth gold head PTNs and even tried a dry fly after seeing one or two coming off the water as I'd much rather catch this way, I saw a solitary March Brown but no fish the whole time I was there, just too early I think. Nevertheless I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and glad I made the effort to find the weir, I will surely be back, a fish would have made a very good day into a perfect one.

CP and BS from London fished the beat from 2.30-5.30pm. Drizzle/scattered rain; becoming very hard rain at the end of day. River level was good throughout the session; some colour in the river was in good condition. Good pleasurable experience in scenic setting. 3 brown trout caught and released, 5-7”. Gold-rib pheasant tail nibs. Long deep pools and riffles/fast water; good pools at the upper part of the beat, fished up to the wier pool at the top.

Beautiful day weather wise and the river was running fairly clear. Didn't see many fish, maybe 4 or 5 rises. Had a brownie to about 3/4 of a pound on a small grey wolf and missed a couple of others. Small hatch of damsel flies later in the evening.

A superb stretch of river but apparently fishless! During a short session before being rained off it was apparent that downstream wet fly would be possible on several of the runs given more water.

Six beautifully spotted Arrow gems to hand on a very low river. Sizes went from 6inch to 12inch and all in excellent condition. There was bit of fly on the go of varying sorts during the day to keep them looking up and most fish fell to a dark klink .
There where a few good sized spinner clouds (brook duns I think) in the evening and when they fell that got the fishes interest but seemed they where very picky, or maybe it was just me making a hash! Whatever, it was just fab seeing good numbers of fish on the go. Titley is a thoroughly beautiful stretch of river and seems to get a fair number of blanks in the feedbacks. My advice, for what its worth, is to move and wade very very slow and watch and wait. Same as everywhere really! It's a great place to dawdle anyway.
Pay particular attention to the long lovely run below the footbridge. I saw quite a few fish moving there including a couple of very good'uns. Alas, they eluded me! Had a good one in the shallows on the tail there too and missed another so maybe don't skip through there.
Thanks WUF, happy days....

Access is very challenging and the levels appeared low. Spent the first hour surveying the beat from top to bottom and another two hours finding accessible spots to fish. Frustratingly poor access and little signs of fish meant that I gave up after an hour of fishing and moved on.

River on its uppers with no fish showing along the entire beat over a 5 hour period, despite abundant spinners and larger. Deep pools refused to give up anything! Another blank. Still, an excellent morning, worth the return trip when the rain finally comes.
