Lovely beat. 2 rising trout caught on dry flies in the early evening. One good size 12" and a smaller one of around 5". Missed a risinh 3rd fish by setting hook too quickly. Plenty of fly life on the River.

A really lovely piece of river, and reasonably easy to scramble up and down.

One important point -- the last little bit when you drive down to the parking place needs a right-angled left turn just before the road narrows to a cattle grid.

Water very low, little fly life, and only two rises spotted in six hours. Caught two nice (maybe 10") fish on nymphs.

Well having had a really good session up at Claerwen Reservoir with a buddy on the Friday ,.with Brownies smashing wets in the wave , I thought I'd carry on the motion on one of the local wild streams as I was off today also,.so plumbed for the Titley beat of the Arrow . . . .

A bit cooler thus morning when I parked up under the yew tree at eight bells. Overcast and s slightly of drizzle that did fade to nothing by half eight ! Very quiet till i got to that first picturesque glide ! Cast my small Parachute Iron Blue ,.a very gentle rise to it !! And boy did he go !!! A donkey of a fish , had me a real run around ; absolute beauty must have been fifteen inches ; maybe a bit more !! Lovely job.. . . . .

Second and third were on a flashback PTN ,.First time I've fished sub surface for ages ! But another tei good fish , both in deep pools and twelve and thirteen inches respectively . Last fish was in the weir pool on the Para Iron Blue ,.Nice splashy take too !!!

I did read that the Honddu fish grow big possibly from feeding on crayfish, well , I'm.sure the same happens here ! Brownies grow big on this beat compared to Whittern and Noke . . . .

A lovely session thus morning, only fairly quick j gig out at the weir at half eleven. Still low and that nasty brown dead algae on stones. Yukky stuff and stinking too !! I was very conscious at the lack of Brownies seen today !! Walking back along the field i normally see Brownies pin balling in the river below!! Today not one seen in that hundred and fifty yard stretch where you can walk close to the river ! Most odd . . . .

Still a lovely morning in the Titley valley!! A superb place to sneek in a few hours and net some lovely Arrow browns. . . . Happy days !! Back home and a date with a hedge trimmer I think !!!!lol . . . . . .

A lovely looking location but a bit of a struggle to find if going there for the first time. Parking all taken by visitors staying in holiday cottages but luckily I was told that a nearby gateway just before the cottage and never used by the farmer, could be used - otherwise it would have been a struggle to find somewhere to park (maybe WUF could discuss with farmer and mention this alternative parking place in the directions?). Bright and sunny to begin but the river was shaded in a lot of places. Using the duo, searched several promising spots but, despite changing nymphs several times, no fish took. Somewhat in despair I fished a very unlikely spot and was taken by a fish that came off almost immediately. A little later on though a trout took a PTN. Had to leave early so that was it for the day. Wading is not as easy as described as gravel/rocks in certain locations are very slippery (algae?). Went as far as the Power Line shown in the map so maybe fishing would have improved further along.

Another fruitless morning on the Arrow. The river was slightly high and cloudy following rain the previous day but nonetheless in good condition. Access is somewhat challenging with the last mile or so on narrow single track roads with few passing places. Once again the profusion of overhanging trees and bankside vegetation make casting challenging even for someone with over fifty years' experience. Tried both nymphs and dries with no success.

Went down in the evening between 7.30 and 9.30 to see if worthwhile targeting rising fish. Very hot and humid. Loads of fly activity including smaller mayflies and BWO I think. Not many fish rising. Caught a rising 15” WBT on a white mayfly pattern and missed two other takes. Lovely couple of hours.

Nice water level, not quite clear. My first time on this beat. Really nice and I will be back despite a scramble or two. Some upwings about but only saw one trout rising. Changed to a dry, but could not get a rise mainly due to incompetence. Better luck on the NZ dropper. 5 trout on a Polish Nymph two of which were a decent size. Several others got off before they reached the net. A very satisfying day in beautiful surroundings.

An evening session from 19.30 to 21.00 looking for mayfly risers. 4 nice trout landed and and several missed or lost. Still quite a few mayfly around plus medium olives.
