Long term fisherman, first time trout fishing. It wasn't pretty but bow and arrow and lobbing nymphs around resulted in 3 lovely WBT. Fished 6 hours exploring the whole beat, covering as much water as I could, 2 fish from drop offs next to streamier water, the largest from a deeper pool.

The brief period of sunshine had finished when I eventually turned up so it was cold and overcast. No rises or fish spotted. I can see why this kind of fishing isn't everyone's cup of tea, lost flies, rods in trees, unsteady footing on the slippery rocks, I came away exhausted! I will be trying further beats on the wild steams as I find the larger rivers intimidating. It would be lovely on a warmer spring or summers day, stealth and accurate casting will get results I'm sure.

This beat is in good form and fishing well, with trout taking nymphs. Nothing rising. The rivel level was slightly on the high side and carrying a little colour but only to the extent that it improved the fishing conditions. All the fish caught were over 10", with one over 13".

Fished the whole beat 3pm to 7pm, two rods booked. Saw very few rises, no takes to a nymph, two takes on the dry, small fish and did not hook either properly.
Car parking is a little confusing as appears to be a private space. I did not on door of cottage to check but no response.

Another very hot and sunny day so not ideal conditions. However fishing started off with a decent trout on the 4th cast and carried on surprisingly well. Only one fish seen rising and no hatch but 3 trout caught on dries and 2 on nymph. Had to leave early but an enjoyable day on a lovely stretch of river.

Arrived around midday with the river quite low but still fishable. A few Mayfly seen throughout the afternoon. Two good trout landed and a third lost at the net, all to a dry Mayfly pattern. The first fish came from under the Ranunculus just above the bridge. The other 2 were both seen rising and gently sipped my fly under. Another pleasant day on this stretch of river.

Much enjoyed despite no sign of trout anywhere. Kingfishers made up for it.

One good trout at 10 inches to a PTN in one of the deeper gutters. Steady trickle of mayfly coming off.
