Very bright and runing crystal clear, no fish seen apart from some fry, lovely stretch of river. car park was full when I got there with 3 cars as there is a cabin being used in the woods ,the nice lady from the farm came out and pointed me in the direction of the gate half back up the track which she said it was OK to park in front of

Went along at midday to see if there was any surface activity. Nothing seen and little fly activity/hatches. Beautiful sunny day but probably still too cold.

Unfortunately I blanked today. Conditions were bright and sunny but cold. The river was running quite low and clear. Despite trying a variety of nymphs, dries and spiders I failed to tempt a fish and I never saw one move all day. There was a brief hatch of iron blues about lunch time. Despite my lack of fish it was an enjoyable day on a beautiful stretch of water.

With the turn back to much colder temperatures the fishing was slow, with nothing rising and little hatching. However, I did manage to hook two and land one, both on PTNs. The river is in fine fettle and at a good height.

Only one take on a beaded spider. Water very clear.
No surface activity, not one rise seen all day.
Some clearing of overhanging trees would be good.
Temp over 20 and sunny.
0.289 on the gauge and falling.

Beautiful stretch of river that I haven't visited for a couple of years. One pool at the middle of the beat has suffered major alteration in the floods, including a tree being uprooted and now forming a sort of island between new channels. Water very clear and quite high, but a cold wind and the few fish moving were all too easily spooked.

Last fished the beat back in June when the river was low. River seemed in good condition clear with a nice flow and weather was perfect. Unfortunately nobody told the fish. Initially fished a pheasant tail nymph on the point with a hares ear and plover above. Saw a fish rise on the edge of a fast run and covered it. Changed to a para Adams dry fly and immediately rose hooked and lost the fish. Still a nice few hours out.
