Near impossible to fish this beat. There are fallen trees throughout, access is very difficult requiring circus skills in places and nettles are head high. It is really disappointing. When walking the beat, even crossing the road bridge you would not know there is a river here just woodland.

I managed a nice fish by floating my leader down a narrow section.

Another sunny warm afternoon but still decent flow on the Arrow.
Access terrible head high nettles and steep banks not good for expensive waders.
There is fishable water for the more adventurous and some nice trout.
No fly life seen on the water apart from the gnats but plenty of mayfly over the meadows on the way back to the car.
Will try and return one evening for the spinner fall.

Great fun but very difficult fishing. Saw a few spooky trout but, alas, caught nothing. The fishing access is demanding, very overgrown.

Access is difficult on much of the beat but once in the river there are good trout to be had. Only fished a couple of hours this evening but plenty of mayfly around and rising trout.

Complete waste of time! All of the banks and I mean all the banks are chest high with grass and undergrowth and banks that are accessible are steep drops of six feet. This stretch of river should be removed from this site

Having said it would be a while before I came back to this beat, I only had a short window to fish and this is the closest grayling stretch to me so returned a week later ( also partly because I realised from looking at OS maps that I had not reached the end of the beat on my previous visit). I fished the up stream half of the beat using the NZ nymph method, still challenging wading but found one grayling about 8 inches on a pink tag with a tungsten bead head.

Hard going, river only accessible in a few places. Nothing seen and nothing caught, This is the closest beat to where I live, but not sure I’ll be back for while. The brambles and undergrowth made progress difficult in many areas.

Well I'm gluton for punishment!!! Opted for jungle tactics this morning early bells , headed for the Monkland beat of the Arrow !!

Well truth be told a big of the Manor Farm beat initially before venturing under the bridge and fishing up it from there and the extreme Leominster side of the river split too !!

I must admit a fun few hours albeit a bit muggy and sweaty avoiding fallen trees et all !!! Good fun and where I could get a cast away some great takes on the dry Parachute Adam's which i stayed on all morning!! And how the hell I came away with the same fly still attached to the 2 pound fluorocarbon I'll never know!!! Lol !!

Some lovely little Arrow fish this morning , in a tally of six to the net ; usual sizes eight to ten inches and savage takes too !!! It's not fished a lot here but like everything in life ; put a bit of effort in and there are some good Fish in here where you can land a dry fly !I did have an absolute donkey on for about ten seconds !!must have been a strong two pound brown or chubb maybe!!! Lovely fight anyway on the two weight rod . . . Oh while doing some kick samples ,there were plenty of bullheads too under the stones, good to see and a sign of a healthy river I'd say too !!

I got out pretty goosed after three hours !! Nice bit of sport . . . Something easier at the weekend me thinks ; like Edw Hergest or the Arrow @ Titley !! Incidentally that doesn't seem the " trendy " Arrow beat to fish this season!! Oh well maybe give it a crack end of the week !Back home and something amber coloured in a pint glass ithink !!! Happy days. . . . .

Overgrown banks make a lot of the beat very difficult to fish, particularly on the Leominster side of the split and beyond the second weir. With a lot of perseverance and bank scrabbling I did manage to get two lively browns on K&D (both around 7” and returned). A tiring but enjoyable day.
