River low and slow so hard to not spook fish. Had 2 missed a few. Great beat, very 'wild' stream and will text your casting! Will try again.

Well with Mrs A. Working till two today , and the garden chores up to speed , thought I'd slip in a quick session on the Arrow . . . . Opted for the Kington beat , nice and local , was reading fifteen degrees in my truck when I parked up at the bottom bridge location , and that annoying gusty breeze ggggggrrrrrrr!!!!

Fishing was fun from the off , prospecting a small Para Adams in likely haunts , and covering the odd rise to , the usual slapshy takes from the Arrow fish , and some nice tubby sporting brownies today too , some off twelve inches , but the majority today were between eight and ten inches . . .

Had four up passed the weir , and did actually have five little fish from the weir pool , fast as lightening , and didn't count them in the days tally , as only about four inches !!!!! Great fun on a two weight rod still !!!!

Up past the weir , as mentioned in another report , only one area which is a huge debris / log jam , past there , and pools and runs are good to go again , and still great sport , and good dry fly water , had another three brownies from that stretch , two long range releases also , and got out just by the Farm complex , a fun three hours , nine Arrow beauties brought to the net , could definitely do with some more water now , big time in fact , to raise the levels , and flush out some of the algae that is forming on rocks etc , as usual , great fun here , nice quick session , back soon !!!!!!

Fished from midday till 6. Water low and clear. A few mayfly about as well as some other trout-meal-sized flies. Parked down at the bottom of the beat and fished up.
Had both fish before getting to the weir. Both fat 8”. There is lots of trout-y looking water below the weir but not so much above it. Saw plenty of fish rise but they melted away when I got close.
Got as far as the road bridge and gave up after nothing spotted moving for a while. With a proper hatch I bet this place would be great fun! Thanks

Another superb session on the Kington beat , fished from eleven till just gone three , not as sunny today , a tad cooler , at about thirteen degrees and stacks of insect life about when I turned up , it was pure perfection , and in the first pool head , a splashy rise , ahhhhhhhhhh bliss !!!!!!!

Fished from the bridge , and initially fished a rusty Para Adams , great fun , and missed the first two takes , but soon honed in , and brought the first eight inch fish to hand , spot on , it went like that right up to the weir , when I had a chill out , and by then had brought ten to hand , lovely fish , all off the top on dries , ranging from seven to twelve inches , lovely colouration as always with these Arrow fish . . . . . .

I did venture on the beat above the weir , and in areas it's pretty blocked with wood , and tree debris , but Danica had put in an appearance and takes were very aggressive on the Para Adams , and at the head of a lovely pool , had two clinkers from the same pool , spot on , both about thirteen inches , and put a serious bend in my little six foot two weight rod . . . . Brilliant , and great to see mayflies dancing around , an absolutely fabulous four hours sport , with fourteen brownies caught , and several mistimed strikes , sport couldn't be better , a memorable day , spot on !!!!!!!!!!!

Decided having not done this beat for a while , to give it a bash , and it turned out being a good call , was sunny with intermittent clouds and about seventeen degrees when I bowled up at one , plenty of insect life about , including quite a few mayflies . . . . .

The Arrow brownies were definitely looking up , and had feisty fish in the runs and heads of deep pools , all on a small Parachute Adams , and also had four on a rusty Adams , splashy takes and boy did some of the fish put up a scrap on the two weight rod , great fun !!!! Had a couple that were in the twelve inch range , but most were between five and seven inches , all with the usual pretty Arrow markings . . . . . .

Only went up to the weir , would have been nice to carry on up the beat , but having caught twelve lovely brownies to hand , all on the dries , was enough sport for the day , and called it a day at half four , finishing off with a feisty little seven inch fish , from out of the weir pool , spot on !!!!!

Lovely few hours , shall do the full beat next time , as it's a cracker , and twelve gorgeous brownies to hand , and three lost at long range made it a fun , hectic afternoon , great fun , back very soon , probably early next week , in between shifts . . . . . . . Happy days !!!!!!!!!!

A bright sunny day with little wind, water conditions low and clear.
Started off on the dry and had one brownie immediately, however after two hours I only managed to rise one more fish which I missed.
Switched to the reliable GHRE and managed to get a few more, nothing above six inches.
Saw quite a few fish, mostly swimming away from my clumsy approach.

Game of 2 halves. I have to assume Kington club maintains the first half of the beat. Going was certainly easier and there were fish. Maybe the two 10" plump fish I caught were stockies? Top half of beat was not good and needs a visit from the clearing team.

Was nice bowling up at one of my favourite wild stream beats . . . . Arrived at bang on midday , with the temperature reading 29 in the truck and the River Arrow looking very very low and as clear as gin !!!!!
Initially I tied on an eighteen parachute Adams, as in some of the small pools there were rises despite the baking hot sun I caught my first feisty Arrow brownie after ten minutes of tackling up , a great start !!!
I chopped and changed between the Adams dry , and a tiny GRHE nymph , as some pools were slow and a bit lifeless to say the least , although second fish , same stamp as the first about seven or eight inches nailed the nymph , lovely colours as always , and in great condition considering the conditions . . . . . .
Further up stream the water levels in places were just a trickle through the rocks , and sitting down in the river bed scanning the next pool seemed to be a good tactic , as my next fish was rising under an alder tree , so on with the Adams and a carefully cast , had him on , ditto in size . .
Half way up the beat , I nearly bumped into a young buzzard , sitting on a rock mid stream , appeared exhausted with the heat , no injuries , so left him be , an impressive bird too !!!!
Last brownie again on the Adams , splashy take and feisty run around at the top pool , just down from the weir , which incidentally has no flow over it what so ever !!!,
All in all a really fun three hours sport and was just the place too be in the cool of the shade in the Arrow valley , four little crackers caught and released , a pleasant wind down in this sticky heat , back soon . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

My first time on this beat with temperatures high and water levels low. I fished from 11.00 to 4.00 and saw little sign of fish or fly activity. An early combination of Parachute Adams and DRHE nymph yielded a spirited 10" Brownie; but then I spotted the occasional Mayfly and changed to a Yellow Humpy. Whether I missed a small Brownie or whether it missed me is a moot point but I saw no more action.
It's not a good idea to try text the river at the Weir. You end up with nowhere to go unless you climb fences as the Turkey Farm is paranoid - probably rightly - about people bringing in infection.
