Good beat but tricky 6 fish to 10 inches

Fished from 3.30pm to 6.30pm, caught 5 beautiful trout, largest of which about 10 inches, all taken on para Adams.

Lots of sunshine. Fished for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Quite a lot of surface activity. Two small fish to an olive klinkhammer.

Warm, increasing cloud and breeze into the afternoon, river low and clear. Trout between 4"-9" from broken water.

Mild weather, river running a little low and the odd fly coming off during the day. 6 trout between 5 and 9 inches, missed several more.
Lots of diversity along this beat, very good.

Water was clearing nicely and had 3 fish to hand. Plenty of fingerlings as well around the riffles.

Rose several and snagged one. Steady hatch most of the day but fish not really switched on.

River now low and crystal clear, trout easily spooked in the bright sun. Nothing rising, even when I had to leave at 7.15pm with a good hatch in progress. Managed to tempt one trout from some of the deeper runs and landed 7, all on small paras. All between 5" and 9". Glorious weather and scenery, can't beat it!

3 wbt all on dries fished in faster pocket water. No rises seen and very little fly life.

All fish returned, (8" long superb condition), caught using a gold head nymph cast up stream, water dropping after flood.
