9in fish on a PTN from a deeper pool.

Did not fish,water extremely low,fish welfare is more a issue atm.
It was a terrible start to the season,and looks like the same at the end.

Nothing caught very low water. Walked the beat saw one trout tried for an hour or so but was not worth fishing so decided to head home.

Very little water fished for a couple of hours but no luck decided to call it a day

Seen a few fish but nothing caught

No fish caught today but I did see 2 trout, so there are fish there, hopefully waiting for me next time I go
Also why is there barbed wire like a third of the way up the beat, all the way across the river

Quick visit to the Honddu after fishing at Longtown on the Monnow. River clear and very low, fish extremely spooky and hard to catch. 3 landed. 2 x 9 inches and 1 x 14 inches.

Fished from 0700-1030, first time on the beat. Only fished the lower section, water was low but some nice pools, spent a lot of time trying to tempt a few rising fish just below the wire fence over the river, but a combination of my skill, or lack of, trying to avoid the fence and overhang and wary fish failed.

A stalking, typical wild stream beat, beautiful morning but no fish. Will be back.

Heat wave on so headed for the hills.
All fish caught on dry fly . Parachute emerged and between 830 am and 10.00 am
