Great day! sun was out and the river looking great. All fish taken from the surface on dry's. Lots of mayfly still about. Most fish in the 15" range. Farmer in field just before the Bridge Inn campsite (on the pub bank) was not pleased to see me on his land! Thank you W&U.

Great days fishing catching mostly yellow Mayfly on the surface. Fish from 6 inches to 16 inches (ish). Healthy fish and fought well. Made it to the end of the beat with a reward of two pints of Butty and a beef cheak sandwich. Perfect!

A day to remember! River showing a bit of colour but at a perfect level and there was an abundance of fly life - Danica, Yellow Mays, Large Brook Duns, Olive Uprights and swarms of small midges. Only a few rising fish in the morning but by noon things began moving off the top. A majority of the fish were 30+ cms and in fine condition. We failed to fish the complete beat and did not wait to see the fall of spinners. We also noticed significant colouring of the river in upper reaches as if there had been some significant rainfall or some form of disturbance upstream and the owner of Llyn Du was not happy to see us despite the fact we were fishing the opposite bank. Future visitors be aware -and do not walk into their garden.

Couple of hours in the evening on the upper section of the beat. Fish rising in all the pools, although not much in the way of olives hatching. Swarms of midge, or possibly caenis about, so suspect this is what the trout were feeding on. One 10" WBT to hand and a number of missed solid takes.

Confronted by the farmer on the true left bank just below the Bridge Inn,indicating that the river was private property and that he had no agreement with anyone allowing fishing. I tried to explain that I was fishing under WUF permit, and had no knowledge that any of the beat had restricted water. To my knowledge it was double all the way between the Lower Escley bridge at Sunny Farm and the Bridge.
Anyway, I promptly stopped fishing and retired to the campsite at Bridge Inn somewhat irritated/disgruntled. Would appreciate it if someone could follow this up.

Bright day and gin clear conditions. Plenty of fly life with large dark olives and bwo in big numbers. All fish caught were over twelve inches which is impressive for a stream this size. Advise giving the house on the left as you walk upstream a wide berth and cross the river before you reach it. I was falsely accused by an ogre of going through his property which was irritating in the extreme. If there is no fishing at that point a slight amendment to the map would be useful. All in all a great day.

Warm day, cloud shielding the sun, a truly beautiful spring day. Very slow start with nothing rising and little fly life. This all changed at about 1pm when the river came to life with rising fish in pool after pool. Mixed hatch of LDO's and some sedge.
Managed 12wbt (all returned) all on an Adams Para. The most extraordinary thing is that 10 of these fish were over 9 inches with the biggest 14". It's astonishing that this relatively small stream holds so many decent sized fish. And what beautiful fish they are too, adorned with those characteristic red spots.
Despite 6 1/2 hours wading, still haven't reached the end of this beat!

Battled up a beautiful little river with many lovely pools. Saw several decent trout. Caught a small Chubb and lost a nice brownie. Lovely day all in all. The only sadness was a lady farmer who got cross because we were on her land and should have stayed in the river! Good value day out.

2 x trout 10-11 inches on Rust Klinkhammer. A long walk to find rising fish in sun, wind, and even hail for a couple of minutes. Proper spring weather.

Only two to hand. Water low and crystal clear, no hatches and limited fly life. Could see several fish above twelve inches but could only raise 2, both twelve inchers. After trying various drys and nymphs had to concede to the fact they were not up for it.

First time on this beat. Beautiful secluded spot but today a cold downstream wind and vry little fly life.
Lots of bedrock slabs and a multitude of instream livestock fences made moving upstream slow progress.
Hooked two fish in one pool but they came off after a brief time. Gave it best after 3 hours as very diligent search tactics were not productive on the day.
Directions spot on.
