Llyn Padarn - Is a glacially formed lake in Snowdonia and is an example of a moraine dammed lake. The lake is approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) long (about 240 acres) and at its deepest point is 94 feet (29 m) deep, and is one of the largest natural lakes in Wales. Brown trout are the resident species and the Torgoch/Char are normally in the deeper water. (A boat will be required to fish for this species, please contact the Cwellyn Arms).
IMPORTANT NOTE : Due to maintenance work from the Dinorwig Hydro Plant, the railway side of the llyn will be closed from 8th Sept 2025 and will run for over 12 months. The rest of the llyn is unaffected.
