We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

11:13 am Tresseck and Red Rails: Congratulations to Richard Dales on catching his first salmon on Saturday. The 8lb fish took a fly.

10:47 am Backney: Fresh hen fish around 12lb to Keith Maddox yesterday evening on a cascade.

10:30 am Coedithel: 5.5lb fish yesterday from the weir pool.

9:44 am Abernant: Fresh run cock salmon of around 13lb to Sean Gammons on Friday (his first salmon), caught on an orange and black shrimp pattern (size 6).

9:07 am Llysdinam: Very fresh 6lb salmon to Steve Grimwood yesterday afternoon on Devon minnow.

8:36 am Spreadeagle: 9lb fish caught on the 28th May by David Rance on a cascade.

6:49 am Cadora Backs: 4 for Maurice Hudson yesterday as the river rose, 11lb, 11lb, 12lb and 14lb.
