We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

2:45 pm Rhosferig: Bill Baxters first trip and a 15lbs fresh fish in 2 hours!

2:34 pm The Nyth & Tyr Celyn: 3 more salmon by lunchtime to the same rod, all on fly. 15, 10 and 8lbs.

10:22 am The Nyth & Tyr Celyn: 12lb fresh salmon on fly early this morning.

10:05 am Usk: 9lbs salmon yesterday morning from CDAC water to Kenneth Evans on a Silver Shrimp.

8:10 am Rectory: 2 this morning, 24lbs Bridge Pool and 13lbs Tail of Rock Pool both to #8 Bann shrimp. A third fish was lost.

4:30 pm Chainbridge (Usk): 2 today, one for Stuart Macoustra and another for Stuart Bigley, his 1st fish. Both caught on a Rev. Mole fly.

9:24 am Newbridge: Congratulations to William Woods for his first salmon yesterday, 12lb on spinner from the Oxhall Pool.

6:56 am Ingeston: 2 fish on the 1st June taking them to 36 for the season.

6:10 pm Bigsweir: 10 on Monday.

9:30 am Wyebank: 15lb fish for Don Macer-Wright on fly as the river rose last night. Upper river now dropping and clearing and high water catches should start to fish tomorrow.
