We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

1:29 pm Gromain: off the mark with a 13lb fresh fish for John Hounslow on a 3/4" green tube and fast sink tip in the top of the Spring pool He missed another one in the tail of the same pool.
12:34 pm Nyth: 7lb salmon for Philip Parkinson on fly this morning. 4 more have been lost in last few days!
11:14 am Pwll y Faedda: Brian Skinner had an 18lber on a Mepps on 8th May and Ken Savage had two fish, estimated at 9lb and 12lb on the 11th May (method unknown).

9:27 am Abernant: Another upper Wye beat off the mark - a slightly coloured cock fish 7-8lbs to Paul Richardson yesterday on a orange Ally's shrimp from the head of Lady Alexandra's Catch. Another fresh fish lost in the tail of the same pool.
