We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

11:14 am Abernant: Under the guidance of instructor Chris Price, Chris Dobbs caught a 13lbs salmon yesterday morning after seeing several fish moving through. He was using a small Cascade fly on a sink tip line.

9:52 am Whitney Court: 8lber on the 1st June.

9:25 am Nyth and Tyr Celyn: 3 fish on Saturday, 2 to John Poole-Warren (14lbs and 8lbs) and an 8lber to Niall Liddell. Simon Schwerdt then caught their 1st fish of June on Sunday, 8lbs from The Cafn. Season total so far for the Nyth: 18.

10:44 am Usk - Swanmeadow: Kim Waters had a 9lb cock salmon, spinning yesterday.

9:49 am Abernant: Mark Allsop, 1st June, 30 inch cock salmon, around 9lbs from Lady Alexander's Catch on a small Cascade Tube. Not particularly fresh.

9:35 am Spreadeagle: Fish of 20lb for John Watkinson yesterday, and 12lb for Roger Ploughdon on Saturday.

7:46 am Llysdinam: 4 fish last week. Robin Woods had a coloured fish fish of 17lb last Saturday and a silver 9lber on Thursday. Steve Grimwood had fish of 15lb on Thursday and a 7lb fish yesterday. Ben Woods lost 2 yesterday.
