We cannot stress enough the importance of making quick and accurate returns of salmon catches, even if nothing has been caught. Recording catch data is one (perhaps the best, certainly the most cost effective) way of determining the success of our river restoration works. Although affected by short term variations in weather and water conditions, the longer term data set will build an accurate picture of our salmon runs. Catch returns can be made quickly via our online form for both Passport and non-Passport waters. Most of our reporting is from the Wye. Where a salmon has come from another river we will state accordingly.

9:24 pm Caermawr: 4 salmon today. 2 Andrew Holloway on an Usk Grub fly, 11.5lbs and 9.5lbs and 2 for Stuart Reid 9lb on an Usk Grub and 14lb on a Devon minnow.
9:23 pm Ingeston: 13lbs coloured salmon to Lyn Cobbley.
4:12 pm Abercothi: Last week in May saw salmon of 17lbs and 10lbs landed.
11:14 am Abernant: Under the guidance of instructor Chris Price, Chris Dobbs caught a 13lbs salmon yesterday morning after seeing several fish moving through. He was using a small Cascade fly on a sink tip line.
9:52 am Whitney Court: 8lber on the 1st June.
9:25 am Nyth and Tyr Celyn: 3 fish on Saturday, 2 to John Poole-Warren (14lbs and 8lbs) and an 8lber to Niall Liddell. Simon Schwerdt then caught their 1st fish of June on Sunday, 8lbs from The Cafn. Season total so far for the Nyth: 18.
